NUCLEAR POWER and CLIMATE CHANGE

I have spent the past six months examining books, articles and web sites focusing on this specific question: “Is nuclear power a necessary or viable solution to the global warming crisis?” The issue is very complex and difficult to summarize.

After reading a great deal of material on both sides of the issue I have finally come across an article I believe is a perfect summary of the issue. It’s only 5 pages long and thoroughly footnoted. Interestingly, it was published recently by the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) the Union which represents many of the workers in nuclear power plants. The article concludes quite convincingly that nuclear power cannot possibly solve the global warming crisis.
