ABOUT VYDA
Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Alliance
We are working to shut down Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant
…..before it is too late!
To that end we organize:
Events to educate the Central Vermont public about the risks that having a nuclear power plant in Vermont poses to our state, about the connection of nuclear power to climate change and about the truly green alternatives we have for efficient power.
Actions to better publicize that nuclear power is NOT safe, NOT cheap, NOT efficient and, certainly NOT green.
Our Meetings:
2nd and 4th Mondays of the month
5 pm
Unitarian Church, Main St, Montpelier
For information call: 476 -3154
DON’T MISS VYDA’s series of informational talks:
The first talk will include TIMELY information on the TRITIUM that was found to be leaking in the underground pipes of Entergy’s Vermont Yankee last week.

Hidden Cost #1: The Fuel Cycle
Nuclear fuel advocates like to say that energy from nuclear power is green and carbon free. The reality is the nuclear fuel cycle is not green or carbon free. It is hazardous and filled with carbon emissions. Find out the costs of the nuclear fuel cycle that starts with the mining of uranium and leaves us with high-level nuclear waste, tritium and other radioactive by-products.
